In this sixth episode of Adventures with the Holy Spirit, we explore what it means to partner with our Heavenly Father, step out in faith, and share His love with those around us. No striving or performing - just walking with Him and loving the one in front of us.

Now that you’ve watched the latest podcast, you’ll have heard Sarah explain more about what this journey with Jesus looks like in practice. It’s about taking the opportunities He places before us: praying for someone who needs healing or sharing the love and kindness of the Father with a neighbour, a stranger or a friend.

This isn’t about completing a challenge or ticking off the steps in a podcast series. It’s always about relationship with the Father. We get to partner with Him and join in with what He is already doing.

Jo reminded us of the scripture in Colossians 3:17:  “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

There is no striving or performance. We don’t have to prove ourselves or make anything happen in our own strength. We simply make ourselves available to Him, trusting Him to lead us as we walk with Him.

Take a moment to reflect.

What might be holding you back from stepping out on this journey with the Holy Spirit? Take some time to sit quietly and ask Him to reveal whether there is a fear holding you back, something in your life that has taken priority over walking with Him, or perhaps a belief about yourself that doesn’t align with how your Father sees you. Could it be a lie that the enemy wants you to believe because it keeps you from taking courageous steps of faith?

As you reflect, consider if any of these thoughts feel familiar:

• What if someone rejects me? – fear of man

• What if I fail? – fear of failure

• I’m too quiet or insignificant – a lie about your identity

• I don’t have time – misplaced priorities

• This is not for me, I’m not an evangelist – a lie about your calling

• The Holy Spirit never speaks to me – a belief that you cannot hear the voice of God

Don’t feel you have to work through all of these or find an answer straight away. Simply notice what resonates with you and bring it honestly before the Father. Ask Him to show you His truth in place of any fear or lie and invite the Holy Spirit to help you take the next step. You don’t need to know exactly what to do or have all the answers, you can begin by being willing and available to Him.

Start very simply by loving the one in front of you!
